Ingredients
- 2¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ¾ cup (150g) packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes until the edges are golden but centers still look slightly soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Pro Tip: For thicker, chewier cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes before baking.
